Quinninup Project
The Antwalker Project, which also incorporates the Pipeclay Tree tenements, consists of two granted exploration licences (E70/5682 and E70/5745) and one pending exploration licence (E70/5455). These tenements are located within the Shire of Manjimup.

The mine site will be located less than a 1km from the closest residential part of Quinninup - would this be allowed in Margaret River, Dunsborough or Manjimup?
We don't think so.
The resulting noise, light and health threatening silica dust pollution will be devastating upon our community. -
There is no adequate water source to supply the industrial amount required for processing these volumes of sand.
The suspicion is that Quinninup Lake will end up being pumped dry by this mine.
Effluent from processing will endanger the Warren River catchment and downstream water bodies including farm dams, creeks and natural streams. -
A substantial portion of State Forest will be annihilated. There will be wanton jarrah, karri and native tree clearing.
Deforestation is one of the major causes of climate change and diminishing rainfall in our region.

Silicosis is a type of pulmonary fibrosis, a lung cancer disease caused by breathing in tiny bits of silica, a mineral found in sand, quartz and many other types of rock.
Silicosis mainly affects workers and communities exposed to silica dust due to construction and mining. -
The haulage traffic transporting up to 40 million cubic metres of sand to Bunbury Port will have a detrimental impact on every township along the South West Highway, impacting towns such as Manjimup, Bridgetown, Donnybrook all the way into Bunbury.
Over the expected life of the mine it would equate to a 60-ton load every 5 - 6 minutes. -
The impact on local tourism will be harmful, the reputation of the district as a tranquil green haven will be destroyed.
The "clean-green" image promoted by the Southern Forest brand name will be a sham if this mining obscenity is permitted to occur. -
The effects on groundwater levels of 50m plus deep pits adjacent to a National Park are unpredictable though highly likely lead to more forest and habitat destruction.
Quinninup is home to the Chuditch (Western Quoll), Western Australia’s largest endemic carnivore with a near-threatened conservation status. The size of a domestic cat, individuals have brown fur with numerous conspicuous white spots ...
