Silica Sand Health Hazard

Yes, there is a real health threat from silica that has been disturbed through activities such as mining.

This presentation is an interesting summary of the threat of silicosis - especially with Allup Silica planning to put an open-pit mine in close proximity to Quinninup that will output 20-40 million tonnes over a 20-30 year period the threat of chronic exposure is very real for nearby Quinninup residents.
